– Attendance is now at 26 members with member Lisa Genovese – Treasury is now just under $1000 including $32 addition from Mineral Mayhem – KC’s selling of advertised Arkansas Quartz specimen at Macungie Show and generous donations of funds to treasury added $200. – $32 into Treasury from the 2nd installment of Mineral Mayhem – winners were Petey Melillo and “Webmaster Mikey” and Lynn Wright. (Thank you again to KC for specimen donation.) – We discussed people visiting our Club Website fomnj.wordpress.com and the Flickr page Mike set up. Members should send Groundhog Dave the pictures they want displayed and Dave will post. John and KC brought up a concern about possible unwanted / unauthorized evidence of collecting pics – Mike mentioned his daughter did ask about several farmers markets (setting up table) and we briefly discussed possible involvement in that. Will “Billy Boy” Pazik mentioned Township Days as good events to do. KC mentioned Allaire State Park and Monmouth County Fair. Kenny mentioned Marlboro Day. KC mentioned we would need MEMBER INVOLVEMENT in that regardless of the venue – We briefly touched on recent Cape Atlantic and Macungie Shows, mostly KC’s attendances and thoughts. – We discussed T-Shirts using Groundhog’s info from customink.com and discussed design, funding, colors / sizes, etc. and everyone in attendance was interested in purchasing 1 or 2 shirts. Most popular colors seemed to be LIGHT GREY and LIGHT TAN but also WHITE and possibly RED were mentioned. We agreed on a two-color maximum for ordering. We agreed our logo will be on the front, full-size and centered. We AGREED on Gildan 50 /50 Tees and Groundhog mentioned that’s what NoJMS and FOMS use. – We discussed having the proposed July meeting with Derek Yoost hopefully presenting and included dinner prior to presentation at Worship Center. it would be a Friday night between 6 and 7pm: meet-up at Worship Center and drive to the Fireside Grill which is5 min. away. Six people said they can attend, while the rest said maybe / can’t tell. No definite no’s. We agreed that Groundhog Dave will contact Derek and mention that it will be either Fri. July 21 or July 28 and see which of those works best for Derek. – Program went very well with lots of specimens to see and a very involved discussion on field trip successes and skunks. Arising from discussion and mention of recent club member excursions was the possibility of a group trip to Sayreville Clay Pits for amber, pyrite and marcasite.
