John Betts, a mineral dealer from New York City who specializes in selling rough, uncut diamond crystals will present a lecture: Diamonds - Myths & Misconceptions.

Mr. Betts will discuss diamond mining and mineralogy then discuss recent changes in the diamond industry, including new mines in various countries around the world and how they have affected diamond prices and the jewelry industry. He will also discuss the lore of diamonds and debunk or clarify the facts. For example: Did you know diamonds are not the hardest substance known?
